Role summary

ProjectArt seeks a part-time Program Manager for its Miami operations. This role involves overseeing the Miami programs portfolio, acting as the local representative, and liaising with partners to expand reach and showcase artists' work. Key responsibilities include managing the artist residency program and art classes, recruiting and managing resident artists, coordinating with library partners for student exhibitions, and ensuring program quality and attendance. The ideal candidate will have 3-5+ years of program experience, familiarity with Miami's art scene, and experience working with artists. Experience with youth or education, and managing budgets/contracts, is preferred. This is a part-time role (15-20 hours/week) reporting to the Director of Programs.

It is an award-winning, national nonprofit that transforms public libraries into vital cultural hubs through artist residencies where contemporary visual artists teach free, after-school art classes to underserved youth, while developing new artwork in the library.

Job Description:

Program Manager, Miami is in charge of overseeing its
Miami
programs portfolio. The Manager will work part-time and report directly to ProjectArt’s Director of Programs, and founder and Executive Directort when needed. The job includes but is not limited to the following tasks.

e ProjectArt's on-the-ground representative for all things Miami.
- Liaise with art galleries, spaces, cultural institutions and partners with the goal of broadening our reach, showcasing our artists and students work in highly visible spaces, and forming strategic, long-term alliances.
- Oversee
Miami
's artist residency program and art classes.
- Recruit, hire, train and manage
Miami
Resident Artists
- Liaise with library partners to work out any programmatic issues and ensure end of year student exhibitions are well coordinated
- Work with public libraries to recruit students to participate in each ProjectArt program through visits at the library and local schools
- Ensure that each class is taught, evaluations are performed and attendance is regular in all of ProjectArt’s classes
- Collect payroll hours every two weeks for teachers
- Support the planning and installation resident artist exhibition

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of experience working in programs.
  • Familiarity and connectedness with Miami's art scene
  • Experience working with artists
  • Ideally, experience in working with youth or in education.
  • Ideally, managing budgets and contracts.

Hours per week: approx 15-20 hours.

Pay: $20/ hr.
