Role summary

SambaNova is seeking a Senior Principal Rack System Integration Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on integrating AI accelerators into rack-scale systems for deployment in customer datacenters. Responsibilities include racking and stacking network, power, and compute equipment, selecting and configuring rack equipment for large-scale deployment, and managing vendor relationships. The ideal candidate will have a B.S. in a relevant engineering field and over 10 years of experience deploying advanced compute and networking equipment in datacenters, with recent experience in datacenter practices, rack design, and converting integrated rack solutions to mass production.

SambaNova is a leader in next-generation AI infrastructure, delivering a full-stack inference platform for customers worldwide. At the core of SambaNova's technology is the RDU (Reconfigurable Dataflow Unit) — a chip built on a dataflow architecture rather than the traditional GPU model. Its decode performance is especially strong for agentic workloads like multi-turn agents, code generation, and long-running applications. RDUs are packaged into SambaRack, rack-scale hardware that lets customers deploy state-of-the-art models with better performance, greater energy efficiency, and faster time to value.

The team integrates SambaNova's AI accelerators into rack scale systems and gets them deployed in customer datacenters. We handle the racking and stacking of tightly integrated network, power, and compute equipment in both prototype and production environments, and we take rack solutions through prototyping into mass production so they stay manufacturable and serviceable at scale. We work with architects, engineering teams, customer datacenter teams, sales, and marketing, and we manage vendor relationships to line the equipment up with our current and future roadmap.
