Role summary
Sollio Agriculture is seeking a Feed Mill Manager for its New Minas, NS location. This permanent, full-time role involves managing all aspects of feed mill operations, including achieving operational cost budgets, optimizing inventory levels, ensuring quality production and delivery, and managing a fleet of delivery trucks and drivers. The manager will also be responsible for employee motivation, development, safety, and labor relations, as well as procurement of supplies and participation in labor negotiations. The ideal candidate will have 7-10 years of experience in a related field, strong leadership, computer, and safety awareness skills, and the ability to work in a demanding environment.
Status: Permanent, Full time
Work schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift

CHALLENGES WE OFFER
Achieves budgeted operational costs, for the New Minas Feed Mill operations
Ensures that inventory levels are kept at optimum levels to minimize cost but maintain production requirements
Ensures the production, sale and delivery of quality feeds and ingredients by developing employee understanding and commitment, as well as a good rapport with sales, technical support, and procurement staff
Motivates and educates employees in personal safety and security of property
Motivates and develops employees to become an effective and efficient work force by individual and group consultation and training program
Nurtures harmonious relations with employees by fair and equitable administration of a collective agreement
Improves office, plant and delivery operations by analyzing operations, developing and implementing plans to reduce costs and/or improve quality and service
Manage a fleet of delivery trucks & drivers responsible for delivering bulk feed from the site to our customers
Looks of opportunities to co-ordinate production volumes with other Sollio sites to maximize plant efficiency
Purchases maintenance parts, new equipment, supplies and services for plant, warehouse and office
Participates in labour negotiations between management and the bargaining unit
