Role summary

STLabs is seeking a Deployment Strategist to manage the customer experience from initial contact through successful go-live on their AI service management platform. This role involves understanding enterprise customer challenges, translating business needs into actionable plans, and partnering with Forward Deployed Engineers to deliver value. The Deployment Strategist will define success criteria, drive adoption post-launch, and act as a liaison between customers and the Product/Engineering teams. This is an opportunity to help build and scale deployment processes in an early-stage startup. Previous experience in consulting, strategy, or customer-facing roles is a plus but not required. The role emphasizes strong communication, structured thinking, and a bias for action in a collaborative, in-person environment in New York City.

Deployment Strategist

About Us

STLabs is an AI service management platform that resolves employee requests end-to-end, grounded in a living model of the enterprise. This matters because we’re able to resolve requests with full context - the people, systems, services, and policies that define how an organization actually runs. Requests that used to take days of back-and-forth resolve in minutes, right where employees already work.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Deployment Strategist to own the customer experience from first touch through go-live. You’ll work directly with enterprise customers to understand their biggest challenges, identify where STLabs can make an impact, and partner with our Forward Deployed Engineers to turn those opportunities into value. As one of our earliest GTM hires, you’ll also help define how we bring STLabs to customers and scale deployments as the company grows

You don’t need a technical background or prior deployment experience to succeed in this role. We’re looking for someone who’s eager to learn, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and excited to take ownership in a fast-moving startup environment.

You’ll thrive here if you enjoy being the person who makes things happen. You’re comfortable walking into a room full of people you don’t know, asking the right questions, and earning their trust. You can take an ambiguous problem, figure out what matters, and rally people around a solution. You don’t need to have all the answers, but you should be excited to find them.

Responsibilities

  • Own customer engagements: Build trusted relationships with customers and serve as their primary point of contact during pilots and deployments. Understand their pain points and translate business needs into actionable use cases and deployment plans.

  • Define and prove success. Set clear success criteria with each customer at the start of a pilot, track progress against them, and own the outcome.

  • Make deployments happen. Work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Forward Deployed Engineers to take pilots from concept to execution. Own timelines, anticipate roadblocks, and do whatever it takes to deliver a successful outcome.

  • Drive adoption post-go-live. Train the customer’s team, get employees using STLabs in their day-to-day, and watch for drop-off after launch.

  • Bridge customers and product: Translate customer feedback and operational challenges into actionable insights for our Product and Engineering teams.

  • Help build the playbook. We’re an early-stage company, and much of how we operate is still being defined. You’ll help shape how we scope, execute, and scale customer deployments as we grow.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of professional experience. Previous experience or internships in consulting, strategy and operations, business development, or customer-facing roles are a plus, but not required.

  • You’re exceptional with people. You communicate clearly, build relationships naturally, and know how to earn trust. You’re comfortable engaging with everyone from individual contributors to senior executives.

  • You’re a structured thinker. You can take an ambiguous problem, break it down into manageable pieces, and figure out a path forward.

  • You have a bias toward action. You don’t wait for perfect instructions or someone else to solve a problem. You take initiative, find creative solutions, and follow through.

  • You’re relentlessly curious. You love learning how things work, asking questions, and getting up to speed on unfamiliar topics. You’re excited about technology and its potential to transform how businesses operate.

  • You sweat the details. You can juggle multiple priorities without losing sight of the little things that make a difference, especially when working with customers.

  • You’re comfortable with ambiguity. You thrive in environments where priorities change quickly, processes aren’t always defined, and figuring things out is part of the job.

What We Offer

  • Meaningful responsibility from day one. We’re a small team tackling big problems. You’ll work directly with enterprise customers, own critical projects, and see the impact of your work firsthand.

  • A front-row seat to building a company. Work closely with our founders, engineers, and customers, gaining firsthand exposure to everything from product development and customer strategy to GTM and company operations.

  • Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits package.

  • Collaborative, in-person environment. Work alongside the founding team in our Midtown Manhattan office, with opportunities to travel to customer sites.

As an equal opportunity employer, we don’t tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. Whether that’s based on race, ethnicity, age, gender identity, citizenship, religion, sexual orientation, disability, pregnancy, veteran status or any other protected characteristic as outlined by federal, state or local laws. The reasonably estimated yearly salary for this role is: $120,000-160,000 USD
