Role summary

SupplyHouse.com is seeking a Receiving Supervisor for their Columbus, OH fulfillment center. This full-time role reports to the Inbound Manager and is responsible for overseeing daily receiving operations, managing a team of associates, and ensuring accurate inspection, processing, and recording of shipments. The position focuses on maintaining inventory accuracy and timely product availability to support operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include managing receiving staff, handling purchase order discrepancies, tracking performance, and executing process improvements. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, physical ability for lifting and standing, and proficiency in inventory, supply chain, and logistics concepts, along with Microsoft Office.

We are looking for a new Receiving Supervisor to join our growing Inbound Team and Fulfillment Center network. This individual will report into our Inbound Manager and oversees daily receiving operations in the OH fulfillment center, managing a team of associates and working closely with onsite leaders to ensure shipments are accurately inspected, processed, and recorded. This role ensures inventory accuracy and timely product availability, directly supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Location: 530,000 sq. ft. in Columbus, OH at 6085 Winchester Pike, Canal Winchester, OH 43110

Schedule: This role supports an operation that runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. While this position generally follows a schedule Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. EST, operational demands during peak and seasonal periods may require leaders to work additional hours beyond their regular schedule. Leaders are expected to maintain a flexible schedule and adjust their working hours as needed to support the business and their teams.

Base Salary: The expected starting salary for the position is $65,400 to $81,750 within a full position range of $65,400 to $98,100 annually. This range reflects the long-term earning potential for the role. Our starting pay practice is the minimum to middle portion of the range, depending on experience, qualifications, and internal equity, consistent with applicable law and it is rare for a new hire to start above the midpoint.

Please note: Training for this position will be Monday and Tuesday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during the first week!

Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily functions of the receiving team to ensure all material is checked in and put away in its appropriate location in a timely and accurate manner

Follow up on discrepancies and inconsistencies with purchase orders

Record and check the quantity/quality of products received, and ensuring the receiving area is clean, safe, orderly, and functioning properly

Lead shift start-up meetings and relaying any staffing/volume concerns to the Inbound Manager

Assign work to receiving associates

Ensure POs are completed with the provided deadline

Track performance of each team member and providing consistent feedback regularly along with check-ins

Ensure individual and departmental KPI success

Conduct monthly check-ins with each member of the receiving team in order to establish rapport and provide feedback

Immediately address all personnel and performance related incidents that arise

Execute all projects and process improvements assigned by the Inbound Manager

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Ability to push and pull objects up to 60 pounds of force independently

Employees are expected to seek help or use appropriate equipment to ensure safety for any task involving pushing or pulling that exceeds 60 pounds

Ability to stand and walk for up to 8-10 hours and up to 20,000 steps per day

Fundamental understanding of inventory, supply chain and logistics concepts

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Outlook, and Excel)

Strong problem solving and time management skills; strong attention to detail

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work independently, multitask and follow process and standard procedures
