Role summary

Seeking a skilled Carpenter with 4-5+ years of experience in commercial construction, specifically in ceiling installation. The role requires proficiency with construction tools, blueprint reading, and knowledge of various ceiling materials and safety regulations. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing ceiling components, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project timelines and safety protocols. Must possess strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and excellent communication skills. A valid Arizona driver's license is required. OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.

    • Summary: The preferred candidate will have experience in various commercial construction tasks not related specifically to the MEP trades. This role requires precision, physical stamina, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Measure and mark ceiling layouts according to blueprints, specifications, or project requirements.
  • Install suspended ceiling grid systems, acoustic panels, tiles, and other ceiling components.
  • Cut and shape materials using hand and power tools to ensure a precise fit.
  • Inspect and prepare surfaces for installation, ensuring structural integrity and proper alignment.
  • Secure ceiling components to walls, beams, or other structural elements.
  • Collaborate with team members, contractors, and supervisors to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges as they arise.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure the finished product meets company and client standards.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

    • Qualifications:

    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED or above.
  • 4-5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial new build and/or remodel construction.

    • Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to ceiling installation. Experience with specialized ceiling systems, such as soundproofing, or fire related installations.
  • Familiar with various ceiling materials, including metal, wood, and fiberglass.
  • Strong understanding of construction blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations
  • High level of attention to detail, and highly organized. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • The ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities depending on project needs. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
  • Ability to work in a construction site environment (trailer office).

    • Language Proficiency:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

    • Nice to have:

  • Start-up experience.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certificate.

    • Additional Requirements:

  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license. May be required to travel to other sites within Arizona to perform certain work functions.

  • Perform repetitive motions involving the hands, wrists, and arms.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, or elevated surfaces as required by the job.
  • Maintain visual acuity sufficient to read labels, instructions, safety signage, and documentation.
  • Maintain balance and coordination while moving materials or operating equipment.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments requiring frequent movement and manual labor.

    • Work Environment:

  • Exposure to dust, noise, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment.
  • Indoor and/or outdoor work environments, which may include varying temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, or active job sites, depending on project requirements.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe boots, and high-visibility vests.
  • Interaction with powered industrial equipment, tools, and vehicles.
