Role summary

Seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure. This role involves working across multiple platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.) and utilizing CI/CD tools, virtualization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes), and scripting languages (Python, Bash) to support enterprise applications and SaaS/PaaS offerings. Responsibilities include implementing system hardening, monitoring performance, and collaborating within Agile teams to deliver innovative cloud solutions. In this dynamic role, you will lead the design, deployment, and management of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions across multiple platforms. Your expertise will empower us to deliver cutting-edge web services, SaaS (Software as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) offerings that meet the evolving needs of our clients. Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain cloud architectures leveraging platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, Rackspace, and OpenStack to support enterprise applications and services.
  • Develop and automate deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Git, Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, and PowerShell to streamline software development life cycle (SDLC) processes.
  • Manage virtualization technologies including VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, and Citrix to optimize resource utilization and enable seamless application deployment.
  • Build scalable web services utilizing RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, Ruby on Rails, Go, Node.js, .NET, and Shell Scripting.
  • Implement system hardening techniques to enhance security posture across Linux and Windows operating systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Monitor cloud infrastructure performance using tools like Meraki for network management and VPNs for secure remote access; troubleshoot issues proactively to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate within Agile teams to develop innovative solutions for IoT (Internet of Things) projects and integrate NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra with SQL-based systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or Microsoft SQL Server.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in cloud computing environments with a focus on cloud architecture design and implementation across multiple platforms including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure or Rackspace.
  • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware, OpenStack, Docker containers, Kubernetes orchestration tools.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell; automation tools like Ansible, Puppet; configuration management practices; and software development methodologies such as Agile.
  • Hands-on experience with web services development using RESTful APIs; familiarity with microservices architecture; experience deploying SaaS/PaaS solutions.
  • Deep understanding of IT infrastructure components including operating systems (Linux/Unix/Windows), network security protocols (VPN), system hardening techniques and system management best practices.
  • Skilled in database administration for MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server; knowledge of NoSQL databases is a plus.

Pay: $124,877.07 - $150,389.59 per year
