Responsibilities

  • Manage incoming service requests, monitor routes, and ensure timely communication between customers, field personnel, and supervisors.
  • Receive and prioritize calls, route resources, track progress, maintain logs, and resolve service issues.
  • Coordinate the transportation of hazardous materials, energetic materials, chemicals, rocket motor components, production hardware, tooling, and other mission-critical cargo between Castelion facilities, vendors, test sites, and external partners.

  • Coordinate closely with Shipping & Receiving, Inventory, Engineering, Production, and other Operations teams to support time-sensitive material movements.
  • Follow applicable emergency response procedures in the event of a spill, vehicle incident, or transportation emergency.
  • When not actively involved in dispatching, you will support Shipping & Receiving and Materials operations, including shipment preparation, packaging, loading and unloading, material movement, and other logistics activities.
  • Adapt to changing priorities between scheduled transportation loads and urgent, mission-driven logistics requirements as company priorities evolve.
  • Maintain urgency without compromising discipline. Changing priorities must never compromise safety, traceability, or accountability.
  • Basic Qualifications

  • 3 years of experience working with hazardous materials in a shipping, receiving, transportation, or material-handling environment.
  • Working knowledge of DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR Parts 100–185).
  • Ability to complete and maintain required DOT hazardous materials employee training, including general awareness, function-specific, safety, security awareness, and other training applicable to assigned job duties.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR), including driver qualification, vehicle inspection, hours-of-service, cargo securement, and hazardous materials transportation requirements.
  • Ability to read and understand shipping papers, markings, labels, placards, emergency response information, and other required hazardous materials documentation.
  • Experience operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, particularly when working around hazardous or energetic materials.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment in the field.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, accommodate changing schedules, and support occasional extended or regional routes as operational requirements dictate.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Ability to monitor and track routes and shipments.
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with appropriate personnel to resolve issues using calm, clear, and decisive judgment.
  • Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 5 years of experience working with hazardous materials in a shipping, receiving, transportation, or material-handling environment.
  • Experience in the movement of Class 1 explosives, energetic materials, rocket motors, propellant, or ordnance.
