Role summary

Inspire Home Loans is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Associate for its Corporate Accounting Team in Newport Beach, CA. This role involves daily invoice processing, weekly check runs, wire/ACH initiation, payment processing for closed loans, month-end reconciliations, and expense report processing. The position requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience. Experience in residential homebuilding/construction accounting and knowledge of Encompass and Loan Vision are preferred. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement after an initial training period.

What You’ll Do:

Inspire Home Loans (a Century Communities, Inc. company) seeks an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Associate to join our Corporate Accounting Team. The Senior AP Associate is responsible for supporting the accounting team in various professional level accounting duties, including various bank and general ledger reconciliations. Ensures that transactions comply with GAAP and company policies and procedures.

This position is located in the Newport Beach, CA office. Potential hybrid after introductory/training period.

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Input invoice daily – ensuring all approvals are received and invoices are properly recorded to the correct general ledger accounts for all four entities. Perform weekly check runs for all four entities. Issue Positive Pay for all check runs processed.
  • Initiate wires and ACH transfers for certain vendor payments.
  • Process FHA and VA payments daily on closed loans when applicable.
  • Reconcile Appraisal costs at month-end.
  • Accrue for various month-end payables.
  • Process employee expenses and company credit card expenses.
  • Cross-train in other duties of the Accounting Department.
  • Prepare general ledger reconciliations related to accounts payable.
  • Provide support and assist with projects as needed.
  • Assist with annual state filing and audits.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with internal departments and external customers, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Experience working in a Shared Services environment with strong customer service skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Enthusiasm to learn new things and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Approachability and a willingness to help the team.
  • Residential homebuilding/construction accounting experience preferred.

    • Your Education and Experience:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Associate Business/Accounting Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable experience.
  • Knowledge of Encompass and Loan Vision (industry software) is a plus.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of employees.
  • Must have exhibited initiation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced, month-end-driven environment

    • Compensation: Century Communities (the "Company") intends to offer the selected candidate an hourly rate in the range of $30.00 - $36.00 with the potential for other financial incentives. Actual offers will be based on a variety of factors, including experience. Employees will have access to paid time off, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, and the Company's 401(k) plan.
