About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Java and Selenium to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our digital solutions through automation testing. This position involves developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts to verify the functionality of UI and API components. The Senior QA Automation Engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product Analysts, Developers, UAT, and Project Managers to understand requirements, design test frameworks, and deliver high-quality software solutions. Located in Calgary with a hybrid work model, this role offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects at some of the world’s leading financial institutions and technology companies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong understanding of testing methodologies and tools to contribute effectively to our continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

  • Strong experience in QA automation testing with Java and Selenium WebDriver
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and working with databases
  • Experience with TestNG, Cucumber, and Protractor frameworks
  • Exposure to Rest API automation testing
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes and build/release automation
  • Ability to develop and maintain automation frameworks and scripts
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in designing test cases from user requirements
  • Ability to evaluate and document business cases for process improvements
  • Proficiency in creating basic documentation using Word and Excel
  • Location in Calgary with a flexible hybrid work arrangement

Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts based on user requirements
  • Perform UI and API automation testing to ensure software quality
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand testing needs and deliver solutions
  • Evaluate and document business cases for enterprise improvement initiatives
  • Design and implement test frameworks and automation components
  • Identify, document, and track defects, and communicate findings effectively
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, methodologies, and best practices
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous process improvements
  • Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automation execution
  • Stay updated with emerging automation tools and industry trends
  • Support production environments and troubleshoot issues as needed
  • Contribute to documentation and reporting of testing activities and results
