About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in Java and Selenium. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and functionality of our digital solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Analysts, Developers, UAT, and Project Managers to understand requirements, evaluate testing strategies, and deliver high-quality results. The ideal candidate will demonstrate extensive knowledge of quality methodologies, testing tools, and metrics, with the ability to evaluate and document enterprise improvement initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within a dynamic, innovative environment, primarily based in Calgary with a hybrid work model.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a QA Automation Engineer with strong Java & Selenium expertise
  • Solid understanding of UI and API automation testing
  • Proficiency in Java, TestNG, Selenium WebDriver, Cucumber, and Protractor
  • Experience in writing and executing test scripts from user requirements
  • Strong SQL skills for database validation and testing
  • Knowledge of Rest API automation and testing frameworks
  • Experience with build and release processes, including CI/CD pipelines
  • Ability to evaluate business cases and document enterprise improvement initiatives
  • Proficiency in designing basic Excel spreadsheets and Word documents
  • Excellent knowledge of quality testing methodologies, tools, and metrics
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and within a team environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Located in Calgary or willing to relocate/hybrid work arrangement

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts based on user requirements and specifications
  • Perform UI and API automation testing to ensure application quality and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand testing needs and deliver quality results
  • Evaluate and document business cases for enterprise improvement initiatives
  • Design and implement test frameworks and automation components
  • Participate in the build and deployment process, including CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Analyze test results, identify issues, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices, tools, and methodologies
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of test cases, scripts, and results
  • Assist in troubleshooting and supporting production environments when needed
