About The Role
As a Senior Data Analyst specializing in Spending at Chime, you will play a pivotal role in developing, testing, launching, and scaling innovative banking experience products that enhance our members' ability to spend, save, and invest. Your primary focus will be on delivering industry-leading spending products that resonate with our members and maintain top-of-wallet status. You will leverage advanced analytics, experimentation, and data science modeling to surface actionable insights and strategic recommendations aimed at increasing engagement and retention. Collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, risk teams, marketing, and operational stakeholders, you will foster a data-driven culture that influences product development and business strategy. Your work will involve translating complex data into clear narratives, guiding experimentation efforts, defining success metrics, and continuously monitoring key performance indicators to ensure alignment with business goals. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence product roadmaps, understand member behavior deeply, and contribute to the growth of a dynamic fintech environment.
Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in data-focused roles, with a proven track record in building analytical infrastructure and data tools for decision support.
  • Experience in B2C product analytics and FinTech preferred.
  • Expertise in SQL, with the ability to translate business questions into complex queries and explore large data warehouses effectively.
  • Proficiency in R or Python for reproducible data analysis and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with BI and visualization tools such as Looker, Tableau, or PowerBI.
  • Strong background in designing metric frameworks to analyze user behaviors and product performance.
  • Experience leading experimentation, causal inference, and sophisticated measurement techniques to guide decision-making.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with a demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence outcomes.
  • Ability to think holistically, navigate ambiguity, and solve complex business problems.
  • Focus on impact, with a commitment to seeing insights translated into tangible business results.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with product, engineering, research, and design teams to translate data insights into actionable product development strategies.
  • Lead and mentor experimentation initiatives, including defining success metrics, data requirements, and evaluating impact.
  • Drive the development of product roadmaps, analysis, and metric ideation through strategic stakeholder engagement.
  • Maintain a pulse on key performance metrics and KPIs, providing insights into trends and business health.
  • Foster a test-and-learn culture by storytelling with data, presenting insights, and inspiring data-driven decision-making across teams.
  • Collaborate with analysts and technical teams to bridge business questions with technical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive dashboards and reports to monitor product performance and member engagement.
  • Identify opportunities for product enhancements and operational efficiencies through data analysis.
  • Support the organization in understanding member behavior and preferences to inform product strategy.
