Role summary

Vestmark is seeking a motivated Cloud Engineer Intern or Co-op for the Spring 2027 semester to join their Platform Engineering team. This role focuses on the design, provisioning, monitoring, and operation of hardware, networks, databases, and cloud services supporting the VestmarkONE SaaS Platform, with a heavy emphasis on AWS deployments. Responsibilities include deploying and validating cloud infrastructure, learning cloud architecture, troubleshooting issues, participating in design reviews, and creating technical documentation. The ideal candidate is pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with experience in technical documentation and cloud services like AWS or Azure.

Vestmark is looking for a motivated Cloud Engineer Intern or Co-op (2027 Spring Semester) starting in January 2027 to join the Platform Engineering team.

The Platform Engineering Team is responsible for the design, provisioning, monitoring, and operation of the hardware, networks, databases, and cloud services that support the VestmarkONE SaaS Platform. The team offers a great opportunity to experience a wide range of technologies and challenges as we strive to provide world-class hosted services to our growing customer base. Scalability, security, and service optimization are the fundamental challenges the team takes on every day. The team focuses heavily on AWS cloud deployments for new and current customers, as well as troubleshooting cloud services with internal application engineers.

As a Cloud Engineer Intern, you will work on the client infrastructure implementation and deployment team, partnering closely with other cloud and systems engineers to learn how deployments use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to provision services and infrastructure in AWS. You will help validate cloud infrastructure setup and connectivity.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to deploy and validate new cloud infrastructure for development, testing, and production purposes.
  • Learn and understand cloud architecture and contribute ideas during design and planning sessions.
  • Assist senior engineers in knowledge transfer and process workflow efforts with other teams.
  • Troubleshoot issues across the cloud stack and contribute to their resolution.
  • Participate in design reviews of cloud architecture and performance optimization.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation of processes related to daily tasks and project work.

    • Qualifications

  • Working towards a BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience writing technical documentation.
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure.

    • Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies such as Windows Server and SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with network technologies including VLAN, HTTP(S), SSL/TLS, and SFTP.
  • Familiarity with SaaS applications.

    Compensation

    Hourly compensation ranges from $19-$22, with specific rate determined by academic year level.
